Sadly, though, the FBI disagrees: Your Correspondent actually called the Minneapolis office thereof (as has jurisdiction over these parts where he's based) to check on the rumor just yesterday, and the Duty Agent hath it that:
the FBI was unaware of the claim until I had brought it up to him; and
further, the FBI has a very strict policy against the endorsement, approval or recommendation of any company, product, service or person.

IF YOU RECEIVE AN E-MAIL WITHIN MEASURABLE DISTANCE AS READS "PLEASE CHECK YOUR BANK DEPOSIT INSURANCE COVERAGE" OR SOME SUCH, the FDIC urges you to simply delete it and take no other action.
It's emerged that such an e-mail is making the rounds nationwide to cash in on fears of bank failures in the wake of that which His Fraudulency's Misadministration hath wrought socioeconomically upon Our Morally-Superior Society and Nation, and for which the Obama Administration is doing its best to repair the damage, Fox Prolefeed-stylee paranoia about "Creeping Communism!" (replete with the inevitable Reechy Horror-Movie Music From The Mighty Wurlitzer in the background) notwithstanding; worse yet, it's emerged that said e-mail is actually a "phishing" device that can be used to access sensitive financial and banking information through trick and deceit.
(That's "phishing," as in the rock band ... more than likely enriching Corrupt and Notorious Criminal Syndicates with whom "phishing" rings have what turn out being Weird and Unwholesome Associations; perhaps the best known I am aware of is the Russian-based "Rockphish" such, with rumoured connexions to the United Russia party and its xenophobically nationalist agenda under the Medvedev/Putin regime; same being a cheap and cheerful way by which Post-Communist Russia can "reclaim Past Honour and Glory" through procurement of hard-currency reserves "by whatever means necessary," no matter how venal or perverto it may be. And with the tacit endorsement of the Russian Orthodox Church.)
As reminder, the FDIC is continuing to ensure bank deposits in our "morally superior" United States to a maximum of $250,000/depositor for the interim (with the National Credit Union Administration [NCUA] offering similar protection for credit union depositor/members), even with some 115 banking-houses having failed this year up to last Friday, concentrated for the most part in California, Georgia and Illinois; ergo, you should have nothing to fear in the face of such a scaremongering e-mail serving, in the end, corrupt and evil ends.

BILL "NO-SPIN ZONE" O'REILLY'S BIGGEST THREAT TO THE MORALS AND DECENCY OF OUR HOLY AND BELOVED NATION (OR SO HE WANTS "REAL AMERICANS" THINKING), otherwise known as France, has begun a major national campaign urging her people to rethink their national identity in the face of an emerging Muslim populace thanks to immigration (and how such can be reconciled with the Gaulic Holy Trinity of Liberté, Égalité, Fraternite).
Next thing you know, expect Fox Prolefeed and its droogs in the 9/12 Project to push for a campaign of Promoting American National Identity as One with National Unity and Cohesion--one, unfortunately, rooted in their preferred ideal of America being a White Low Church Christian Nation Now, Tomorrow, Forever ... and one which holds xenophobic hypernationalism, hate, self-sufficiency and bigotry dear as articles of faith.
In its turn, expected to be call enough for a counter-campaign as ought be rooted in our motto of E Pluribus Unum, "One From Many."

AS IF GLENN BECK'S "REHABILITATION" OF CLEON SKOUSEN AND JOSEPH McCARTHY WASN'T AWFUL ENOUGH A THREAT TO AMERICAN SOVEREIGNTY as much as her "antient and peculiar sovereign identity," Russian President Dmitri Medvedev is using a video blog posting on the Kremlin website to take issue with such seeking to "rehabilitate" Soviet-era majordomo Josef Stalin in the interest of Saving Our Holy and Beloved Mother Russia From Herself, especially considering where many millions of Russians died during the sadisto excesses of Stalinist rule between 1929 and his death in 1953.
As the BBC explains:
Millions of Soviet citizens died under Stalin's rule and Mr Medvedev
said it was not possible to justify those who exterminated their own
people.
He also warned against efforts to falsify history and defend repression.

Mr Medvedev said it was impossible to imagine the scale of
repression under Stalin when whole groups of people were eliminated and
even stripped of their right to be buried.
The president said
there were now attempts to justify the repression of the past, and he
warned against the falsification of history.
All this flies in
the face of the current trend to promote Stalin as an effective manager
and a leader who transformed the Soviet Union.
Under Mr Putin, the order was given for school history books to be re-written, highlighting Stalin's achievements.
In
Moscow there is now even a Stalin-themed cafe and a metro station with
one of Stalin's famous slogans on its walls. In northern Russia a
historian investigating crimes committed by the former Soviet dictator
was recently arrested.
It would appear there is a split within the Russian leadership on this highly sensitive issue.
(In fact, the timing couldn't have been more interesting, coinciding as it does with a National Day of Mourning and Remembrance for the victims of Communist-era repression.)
Let this be an example and lesson for our "morally superior" United States seeking to push an idealised vision "to reclaim America from herself" based on embracing white middle-class Levittown-stylee values of the 1950's towards such an end. Especially such which sought to arbitrarily label anyone opposed to a conservative quid pro quo as being "Communist".
Which expected all Americans to be of one thought, of one mind; any deviance thereof to be seen as one with Serious Mental Disorders and, ergo, committed to the State Asylum for the Insane posthaste (or, @ a mininum, to be seen as a Psychopathic Communist).
Which expected all Americans to simply ignore the poor and National Minorities in its midst and pretend they don't exist, that such are unworthy of acceptance or help because of "serious moral failings" on their part (and that any attempt to justify helping the less-fortunate and destitute beyond an idealised mutual self-help model was to be looked upon as "Communistic" and any supporters thereof prime candidates for the State Asylum).
Which expected capitalism with American characteristics to be looked upon as Great White Father and Saviour of the American People, offering a wider selection of goods and services @ lower prices than the "morally suspect" Communists.
Which saw Our Holy and Beloved Nation as The One True Centre of the World, the Universe and the 28 Known Galaxies, not to mention The One True Portal and Gateway to Heaven as of Divine Ordinance and Will, and that the defence thereof was essential to defending Our Antient and Peculiar Sovereignty and Sovereign Identity--preferably in a nativist and xenophobic brand of groupthink.
Which required essentially playing along with "staying the course" to a conservative status quo, and doing so without question or reservation; any deviance therefrom to be looked upon as one with a Serious Mental Disorder or Disease Bordering on Communist Tendencies and, hence, Requiring Drastic Measures to Prevent Further Harm and Danage.
Which is what Fox Prolefeed and their droogs are pushing as the Last and Only Hope to Save America From The Clutches of the Evil Empire Whose True Name No True and Loyal American Should Dare Speak Under Pain of Most Drastic Consequences Too Horrible to Relate, and Preferably Through a "Pre-Emptive" Brand of McCarthyism, Showing No Mercy and Taking No Prisoners--and, in the process, Showing Reckless and Utter Disregard for the Holy and Sacred Constitution They Claim to be Defending.
And which should be challenged @ any and every opportunity, the which is and ought be the mission of All Real Americans (and no, not the imitation promoted by Fox Prolefeed and Drookies).
Otherwise, America will be the ruin and desolation these self-proclaimed "Saviours" and "True Believers" are really (and secretly) wanting all along (and yet don't want you or I knowing this is their real intent and desire).
