Which has to make you wonder if G-d was sending Glenn Beck a sign that He is not amused @ his antics, and their particular appeal to Those Who Should Know Better (in particular, the socioeconomically vulnerable, marginalised and unemployable) in Our "Morally Superior" United States (snark intended).

IN THE WAKE OF THE FORT HOOD MASSACREE THIS PAST THURSDAY, certain weird and unwholesome prolefeed channels, all excusing such as one with True Patriot Love in All Thy Sons Command Towards the Final Perfection of a White Low Church Christian Theocracy, the Shining City of G-d Upon a Hill That Apartheid South Africa Came Oh So Close to its Final Perfection and Achievement Until "Communists" Came Along With Their Evil and Sinister Designs, seem to be calling for "preemptive measures" against such known or otherwise suspected of being Muslims in the military as much as in Our Holy and Beloved Nation based on their Al Cohol-inspired "Fifth Column" mindsets.

And want same done not just discreetly, but showing No Mercy all the while, sadistic ultraviolence being justified as one with True Patriot Love, usw. (And using the "preemptive action" defence in case police start asking questions, especially if Hate Crime charges are hinted @.)

That, and still insisting on the eventual aim of the Shining City of G-d Upon a Hill Being America's Eventual Destiny.

MEANWHILE, OUR MUSLIM BRETHREN IN SWITZERLAND, IN THE INTEREST OF "WINNING HEARTS AND MINDS" AGAINST A NATIONAL PLEBISCITE @ the end of the month to proscribe minaret construction across Helvetia, are having a National Open Day @ mosques and Islamic Centres in the interest of acquainting people with Islam and Muslim beliefs and teachings.

And you thought Stan Freberg's referring to National Minorities as "Swiss," irrespective of national origins, to avoid offending anybody was rather absurd to the point of Monty Pythonic....

CITING THE CONSTITUTIONAL DOCTRINE THAT ALL ARE EQUAL BEFORE THE LAW, TAIWAN'S CONSTITUTIONAL COURT HAS STRUCK DOWN A LAW THERE which has prostitutes arrested for engaging in Mrs. Warren's Profession subject to a 72-hour detention period in police custody while the patrons thereof ("johns," to use professional argot) get off scot-free essentially.

This as Taiwan (Republic of China) seeks to build bridges of friendship with the Communist "People's Republic of China" (as officially frowns upon prostitution as a "moral evil***endemic to capitalist societies"), not to mention pondering the decriminalisation of prostitution; the latter point may gain some serious traction thanks to this recent ruling.

And let's not forget that infamous suggestion conservative talkback radio host Neal Boortz made to a Hurricane Katrina refugee from New Orleans in Atlanta seeking to return to self-reliance: Prostitute thyself. No wonder conservative Zealots and True Believers would love to use the current State of National Economic Emergency to push for "Open City" policies as could (as history has shown) excuse police-protected prostitution, gaming, "numbers/policy" rackets, back-room liquor sales, the whole carnival of political corruption, graft, criminal syndicalism and its evil byproducts.

Remember Phenix City, Alabama?

Hot Springs, Arkansas?

Canton, Ohio?

Joplin, Missouri?

Galveston, Texas?

These are all watchwords for civic administrations who used "Open City" politics as just summarised to excuse Maschienpolitik most vile, crude and venally corrupt excusing Sin and Vice as "business as usual."

(Winona, MN, where Your Correspondent is based, was infamous in its day for the red-light quarter along West 2nd Street near where the Chicago and North Western's depot, since demolished, used to stand, brought to an end by World War II-related concerns that soldiers visiting Winona on weekend passes from Camp Williams or Camp McCoy were being thus "demoralised" through the spread of social disease--especially so Japanese-American soldiers; remember, racism was considered perfectly acceptable in such less-enlightened times, especially where Clear and Present Danger of Miscegenation ensued.)
